Dr Tuan Tran

Dr Tuan Tran is a Comprehensive Ophthalmologist who treats general eye conditions including cataract, pterygia, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration. He is committed in understanding patient concerns and treating patients with the best possible individualised care.
Tuan graduated in Medicine from the University of Queensland after gaining streamlined entry following his undergraduate degree. His interest Ophthalmology led him to complete a degree in the Masters of Medicine (Ophthalmic Science) at the University of Sydney.
Tuan completed his specialist training in ophthalmology at the Sydney Eye Hospital and then underwent further comprehensive training to obtain Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmology (FRANZCO). This comprised of supervising roles as the Senior Registrar at both the Eye Emergency of Sydney Eye Hospital and the ophthalmology department at Liverpool Hospital. He is an experienced cataract surgeon who also has a passion for medicine in developing nations.
He has presented at scientific meetings and published in several peer-reviewed journals. He continues to pursue his interests in research whilst being a sub-investigator for clinical trials involving the treatment of glaucoma and retinal conditions. He currently is appointed at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital as a medical retina and uveitis clinical fellow.
